A night guard is a custom-made oral appliance worn during sleep to protect your teeth from the damaging effects of grinding and clenching, medically known as bruxism. Unlike store-bought guards, a professionally fabricated night guard is designed specifically for your bite, ensuring comfort, durability, and effective protection.

Why Custom Night Guards Matter

Teeth grinding and clenching exert tremendous force on your teeth — up to 250 pounds per square inch in some cases. Over time, this can lead to worn enamel, tooth sensitivity, cracked or chipped teeth, jaw pain and TMJ disorders, headaches, and damage to crowns, fillings, veneers, and implants.

A custom night guard creates a protective barrier between your upper and lower teeth, absorbing and distributing bite forces to prevent damage. It also helps relax the jaw muscles, reducing tension and discomfort.

Custom-Fitted for Comfort

Store-bought night guards are bulky, uncomfortable, and often ineffective because they don’t fit your unique bite. Our custom guards are fabricated from precise impressions of your teeth, ensuring a snug, comfortable fit that stays in place throughout the night and doesn’t interfere with breathing or sleep quality.

We offer different materials and thicknesses depending on the severity of your grinding. Some patients benefit from a softer material, while others with heavy grinding need a more rigid, durable design.

Caring for Your Night Guard

Rinse your night guard with cool water after each use and brush it gently with a soft toothbrush and mild soap. Store it in its protective case when not in use, and bring it to your regular dental checkups so we can inspect it for wear. With proper care, a custom night guard typically lasts 3–5 years.
